USING RECYCLED WATER TO INCREASE PROFITABILITY
Veolia designed, built and commissioned six wastewater treatment units for Tatweer Petroleum. These units treat the fluids extracted from its customer’s oil wells – primarily water with a large component of oil and natural gas – to produce 8,000 cubic meters of recycled water daily.
ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAVINGS
Water is critical to oil extraction, and most of this recycled water is reinjected into the wells to make the extraction process more efficient. So by enhancing productivity, the water recycling primarily yields economic benefits. But it also minimizes the oil company’s impact on Bahrain’s water resources.
